My philosophy is QUALITY, rather than quantity, and FLEXIBILITY. I specialize in a limited and defined geographic area around Lincoln Park which allows me to provide a flexible, responsive service since I live within that area.
I LOVE animals and have years of experience working with them. You can trust me to provide a safe, comfortable, fun, and healthy environment for your pets. Whether it’s taking them for walks or providing in-home care, I’ll watch over them as if they were my own.

My current dog walking COVERAGE AREA is limited to a portion of Capitol Hill SE - between 16th to 11th Streets SE (East to West) & Lincoln Park to Pennsylvania Avenue SE (North to South) - and is highlighted on the map below.
I cover a broader area for cat sitting - If you need a cat sitter, contact me to find out if I cover your location north of Penn Ave on Capitol Hill SE or NE. I cannot accommodate cat sitting requests south of Pennsylvania Avenue SE, on H ST NE, in the Navy Yard, Wharf, or north of H ST NE.
AVAILABILITY UPDATE 10/1/24 - DOGS & CATS: I am currently booked up and unable to add new dogs or cats to my pack at this time. If you don't need care until next year you can use the CONTACT ME form below to send me the particulars regarding your pet's needs (please do not text or call). If I can't accommodate your request I may be able to help you connect to one of my insured peers.
I only board current dog walking clients and am unable to accommodate daycare and individual walk requests for dogs whose families are in town for a tourist or special event visit.
PLEASE NOTE: I have a busy schedule but do my best to respond to requests within 2 days. If your request comes in on a Friday or over a weekend, you may not hear back from me until Monday.

I'm Lara Walker. A 33 year resident of Capitol Hill, I’ve been providing loving care and professional and reliable services that pet owners can count on since 2007. I'm a lifelong animal lover and longtime dog owner and believe in caring for the fur babies I’m entrusted with as I care for my own beloved SharPei, Boon.
With years of experience as a dog owner and pet caregiver, I understand the expectations of pet parents. I am dedicated to ensuring that every animal is safe & happy in every situation and providing real solutions to the most common problems pet owners face. Still, I'm always learning about new care techniques and pride myself on improving my skill set so that I can provide the best pet care on Capitol Hill.
